I discovered the Game of Throne books and have now watched season one and two of the episodes for these books. Love it. I seem to not be alone in this love. Great books and show, check it out if you have not already. I drew two of the characters. Maybe I will draw some more. We will see. I love to draw famous people because the are easily recognized by others. I hope it shows my talents.
Christmas family portraits
2014 was a great year. I have started to take my art to a more serious level. I have created my web page and I am sharing my art with everyone ob social media now. I have a ways to go but the journey has started. 2014 ended with two family portraits completed both for their new homes for christmas. Both 16x20 inch and both by pencil crayon. Putting four faces on one picture did make for some challenges and learning. Cheers to 2015 and all the new opportunities yet to come.
I promise, I have not fallen off the face of the earth
So,,,, It has been a while since I have opened up my webpage or blog. November 25!!!!. Okay time to get back to updating everything. I have no excuses. Christmas came and eat me up. that was to be expected. But after that, well, I don't know. BUT I am back. Stay tuned for new art work to get posted that I have been working on. And the plans for future work.

Second photo submission
Finally, after a long summer break, I have seemed to complete my second photo submission. The first on of the pathway was taken in Coconá Caves in Teapa. It was a great day with the family. I should have brought in my tripod to get some really good long exposure pics. But I was able to snap this one with my on camera flash anyways. I love the old fashion feel of the black and white. The objective was leading lines and this has obvious lines. My teacher seemed happy with this one at least. The next one was the marigolds. This is a wall in my garage here in Mexico. I was really happy with this one but my photographer teacher thinks I still should have cropped in closer. Oh well, I like it the way it is. The Marigolds were everywhere here in Mexico for the Day of the Dead festival. and they matched the wall I was planning on using. Objective was to use framing to emphasize the subject, again obvious use here. But it was the hardest to come up with. When you are looking for an ideal framing devise, they all hide from you view. So I decided to create my own. The last one was to use large size to showcase the subject, this being the mushrooms. These guys keeped growing in my backyard this fall. I liked the way thy lined up when I got on the ground. I was able to snap a few shots until my great dane puppy found me lying on the ground. He thought it was playtime and ran around crushing the mushrooms in his excitement. Well, can't wait to see what I come up with for the next submission.
New and Improved!!!!
I have changed the face of my page. Check it out and let me know what you think. I hope it looks better now. I think it does. I made new categories for searching the art work. I think it is a little more grown up looking, haha

Tribute to Robyn Williams
Celebrities come and go but only a few are able to achieve greatness. When I heard about Robyn Williams I was driving in my car and the radio station dedicated four hours to him. Playing his songs from all the loved movies he helped to create. He provided us laughter and entertainment while still showing the good in people. His talents will be missed the laughter and joy he created and inspired will carry on.
It took all summer!!!!!
It took all summer to complete this project. It should have been a quick assignment. But you know how it goes. The job of "Mom" takes over the summer hours. The completed piece I hope to give to a dear friend for a house warming gift. I hear she is to get her house this month. So by the time I get it back to Canada for her maybe she may have a place for it. Hope you like it Pam!!!!!!! Love ya!!!!!!!!

Time to get back to work
As all mom's know, summer is filled with long days of sun and chasing the children around keeping them busy. We all look forward to the days of summer ever year, no more school routine, make you own schedule and hours, always excited when it starts. Then we realize that any personal goals you had never materialize, because it seems to be so busy relaxing with the kids. The reality is that days become filled with the kids coming and going and keeping the little ones busy. Soon we are anticipating the blissful return to that school routine. Mom's rejoice. School is back. Now, what was I doing last June??? Right, time to get back to work.
Textured paper and pencil crayon
I liked the black background so I decided to try another color, grey. But the paper I choose was fairly textured, lots of bumps to deal with. Works great with charcoal. So I attempted to use pencil crayon. Well, I am happy with the picture, it does look like our Cloe, The detail was not what I wanted it to be. Pencil crayon does not like this much texture, or rather I don't like using it with pencil crayon. The plus side was it was a very fast drawing to complete. About 20-30 minutes. My daughter Nicole told me that I could get a job on the street doing pet portraits because that did not take long. So I guess now I have a new potential career path. Not sure if that was the one I was going for.

First Photo Submission!!!!
Thank you everyone for helping me decide which landscape photo to use( the pathway won out) and thanks Chantel for helping m pick out what motion picture to use. Now I still feel nervous about how they will be received. But here is wishing for a good review and trying not to second guess myself. AAHH very difficult. Thankfully I have great children to abuse for subject material, they always make for great pics.
